Arch Street Meeting House was built to host the numerous working groups and committees of the Yearly Meeting.  In the 18th century Quaker women lobbied for a building spacious enough for their widening scope of work and growing membership.

The central belief of Quakerism offers women spiritual equality and Quaker Women sought social, economic, and political equality ever since.  Quaker women were on the forefront for abolition, suffrage, education, and social justice.

The meeting house, built at their request, has meeting spaces on both floors that accommodate groups from eight to eight hundred.  We also welcome wedding and commitment ceremonies of all traditions.  Our historic meeting spaces, with the fine acoustics, are well loved and appreciated by musicians and actors.

I wanted to let you know how much we appreciated your assistance with our wedding.  It was absolutely perfect and working with you and your staff was a pleasure.  We do appreciate you!”

“You folks at the Arch Street Friends Meeting House were a beacon for us at the memorial service.  The aid and efficiency you gave were invaluable.”

“We can’t begin to tell you all the positive feedback we received from our members and attendees at the graduation ceremony.  One person stated that he never spoke in such an environment – the peaceful feeling of the space…”

“Thank you so much for your responsiveness and your willingness to help us with our meeting requirements.  You went above and beyond anything we could have asked.”

“The space was amazing and the cooking was better than mom’s.”
