First Time at a Quaker Meeting

"The trouble with Quakers is that there aren’t  enough of them.”  -- Billy Wilder

Attending Quaker Meeting for Worship for the first time:

Friends (Quaker) unprogrammed Meeting for Worship occurs in the sphere of silence.  The meeting begins when the first worshippers enter and open themselves to the Divine.  Please sit down quietly, put all distractions out of your mind, and listen within the silence – patiently and without expectation – to experience what God may reveal.

When the inner urge moves you to speak, you may stand up to share your message.

The Meeting is closed when designated conveners shake hands.  You will shake hands and greet the people around you.  Feel free to ask questions and request more information at the conclusion of the meeting.

Everyone is welcome.
